How to play

  1. Open Andar Bahar and choose a stake for Andar, Bahar, or both if the room allows.
  2. Watch the middle (joker / house) card.
  3. Cards are dealt alternately to the Andar pile and the Bahar pile.
  4. The first side to receive a card matching the middle rank wins that round.
  5. Payout follows the table sheet for main bet and any side bets.

Example

Middle card is 7♦. You stake on Bahar. Cards fall Andar, Bahar, Andar… until a 7 lands on Bahar first — your main bet wins. If a 7 had landed on Andar first, that side would take the round.

Rules & scoring

Only the rank must match the middle card — suit usually does not matter for the main bet.

Andar and Bahar receive cards on alternate deals; timing of the first card can vary by room.

Side bets (if shown) settle on their own rules — read the help once.

Each round is independent; there is no hand-building like Rummy.

Key terms

The rank both sides are racing to match.
